Rehab Happy

So, what's up with everyone going to rehab? Miss. USA-or whoever she is-going to rehab. b/c she was caught underage drinking at a bar or whatever and since she's a "role model" she has to do something about it. And just because she took her first drink at 14 she's an alcoholic? Um, hello-doesn't like have of the teenage population drink that young and sneak into bars and engage in underage drinking? I guess they should all go to rehab too. And why is the guy from Grey's Anatomy going to rehab? Because of his foot in the mouth disease? It seems like ABC is trying to figure out a way to deal with the fact he keeps making comments many find offensive-so hey-let's ship him off to rehab for it! That doesn't make sense to me. It's a 12 step program that teaches you to love others. "Hi, I'm (your name here) and I compulsively throw out offensive comments. Wow-that feels so good to admit!" I wish whoever is behind all this would quit trying to put a band aid over everything by sending them to rehab-the answer to everything apparantly. Things are what they are-and some people need to chill out about it. And you can't please everyone. And Miss. USA shouldn't have gone to rehab she should have been stripped of her title! I don't care what she does in her spare time and I don't care if everyone else does it to-she has a job to perform and is supposed to be setting an example. And don't say thats pressure and whatever else-THATS YOUR TITLE AND YOUR JOB AND HAS BEEN SINCE 1425, when they had the first pageant! Next thing you know-someone will be saying how much they love Coke and someone will get mad because that's offensive to them, a Dr. Pepper lover, and it's prejudice, and they're going to go to rehab to learn how to stop saying they love Coke so much! And then they'll discover they're a coke addict-and that's going to open a whole new can of worms......

Life is Crazy

Life is crazy, unpredictable, happy, sad, scary......right now. I have several things on my mind. I want to know who believes in fate-who believes it's timing-who believes that if you make a wrong choice life will eventually turn you back in the right direction and put you where you're supposed to be. Or, you make a wrong turn, and that's it-too little, too late. Sometimes you look back and it's that tiniest decision, that if you'd made a different choice, your life would be in a totally different place. Or is it that there are rough times but it'll get better and you just can't give up? How do you know in each situation what's really going on? Right now I wish I had a magic 8 ball for my life. I feel out of control!

Is re-cap hyphenated like that? Oh well. So, I am 22, I love American Idol, and I'm ok with that. I admit it proudly! My favorites so far are the guy with the REALLY long hair and beard, the guy that reminded them of Justin Timberlake, the opera singer girl-even though she's kind of wierd, but she has a good voice and there was some guy from last week who could beat box really well-he was cool. Simon just cracks me up. He gets the funniest looks on his face and can say the funniest things. Yes, I know, he goes too far sometimes and can be mean. What about the girl who said she wanted them to teach her to sing? She was a little crazy. And everyone keeps going out the wrong door. Good times.

Is it payday yet?

So, I just wrote a check to Target for $60 when I have $60 in my account, and I just took $15 out at the ATM and I just remembered I sent off a credit card payment that will probably go through tomorrow or the next day. Whoops. I used to be really diligent about keeping track of my account, now I just call in to check the balance. I just started a full-time job last week and won't get my first paycheck until this week, and I'll also get a refund from my student loans, I just hope everything gets where it's going on time and nothing bounces! Luckily, I get paid every week at my new job. I've been broke for the past week and I've been scrounging for everything-it sucks! I cut my hair a few weeks ago too, now I wish I hadn't. Every time I do I remember how much I wanted long luxurious locks, but now they're gone!

I love fashion-aesthetically speaking really! It's wonderful! I just started my first official full-time job and I've been searching for clothes and the other day I got two skirts for $10 from Banana Republic (that was with my Gap employee discount...but I dont work at Gap anymore as of this week...anyway) and I got this green sweater I love from Target for $13! I love sales! I usually don't have the patience to shop them and dig through stuff but I came across this stuff realitively easy!

Also, I am in search of a khaki or white linen blazer, so if anyone comes across one, please let me know!

So today, after a day of work, I thought I would top it off with a nice fattening meal from McDonalds-and my window is down as I'm sitting in line and I hear the lady in front of me telling the girl at the window something about how she can't hear at the speaker thing where you order and they're being unprofessional b/c she can't hear and they're talking or something along those lines. It drives me nuts when people complain and whine and throw fits about the dumbest things. Having worked retail for over five years it's amazing how rude people can be. They get mad at me b/c, yes, I make all the rules and policies our company follows, and yes, it's my fault your card was declined, and yes, it's my fault I need that shirt your child is chewing on to keep him quiet so I can ring it up and de-sensor it so you don't set the alarm off in every store you go to. Anywho, in defense of McDonalds from the mean lady: 1-It's McDonalds, who ever said they were professional? 2-it's just food-and fast food at that. Some people need to take a chill pill. There's no sense in finding things to nit-pick at-and it can really ruin someone's day when they do that. It's just not nice.

I hate the cold

I must get out of this house immediately. I have serious cabin fever.

Ok, I'm SUPER excited because I just discovered something that has been right in front of me the whole time and I never noticed-CONTINUING EDUCATION. As in, fun classes I'm actually interested in that are $30-$100, in the evenings, that are, let me stress again, FUN! I think I'm going to do the courses at Francis Tuttle. I want to do beginning sewing, maybe the cheesecake class-a painting or sculpting class would be fun too. But I think I'll start wtih sewing. I'm so excited!

Is it just me or are newscasters like the most annoying people on the planet? They just drive me nuts. I won't name any specifics............tyler suiters, jessica shambach, rick mitchell, maggie carlo, linda cavanaugh....
And, for some reason, I am cursed with seeing them everywhere. I have seen at least 5 different newscasters within the last year at various locations...plus one mathis brother.
I think what is annoying me today about the news is how they're freaking out about how it's supposed to snow this weekend. One, I don't want it to snow, so, I don't want to hear about it and I don't want to hear how OKC is preparing the roads and how to keep extra warm and toasty. And, I don't like when they say a giant ice storm is coming and two snowflakes fall.
I'm ready for spring.

On My Mind

I couldn't quite decide what to post about-I'm new to the whole online journal stuff. So, I'm just going to write about a few things that are on my mind at the moment. First, I would like to say I get very sad and annoyed when I see stray animals wandering around. Today I saw this beautiful white kitten jump into a dumpster, looking for some food. I'm sorry, but some people are so dumb. They get animals and don't want to be responsible for them and it makes me sick. Three of my four animals have all been adopted/rescued and I can't imagine what kind of home they might have if I hadn't taken them or they were homeless or if they'd just been killed because no-one wanted them. If people would stop breeding their dogs like there was no tomorrow, and if they would get their animals spayed and neutered and if there was a little more common sense maybe this wouldn't be a problem. I wish I could take every one I see on the street, home with me.
Second, I would like to say that I managed to buy all my books for this semester for around $150, which isn't too bad. However, I would also like to mention that I usually do not open my text book once throughout the semester,because I use my notes, and I often wonder why a textbook is required.
Finally, on a positive note, the weather was very nice today and I can't wait for summer!
